One of the joys of teaching is making an impact on the lives of students...but also, they give us a lot of "me time" with breaks and such. This school year was good and not so good for me.
My son, Kaleb, had a rough year with behavior. We discovered he has a lot of built up anger. I have told him I will never understand what it feels like to not be raised by a biological dad, but God showed him favor with Errick. Errick on the other hand can relate to being raised by a step-dad. His father's name was not even on his birth certificate. So he can relate to Kaleb in a lot of ways. My prayer is that Kaleb will see the good in his situation and love his biological dad anyway and not show resentment towards him.
I was able to coach girls track and field, as well as, speech and debate. It felt good being apart of things outside of the classroom. I am so thankful for a supportive husband. He even came to a few track meets, even though it was hot! I am on the fence about coaching track again next year because it really took a lot of time away from my little family. The way my hope is built, I really believe we will be pregnant during the upcoming school year as well.
We joined a wonderful church called Grace Church Live. It is a multicultural church that believes in reaching that One and sharing who Jesus is.
All-in-all, I had a good school year. Regardless of your occupation, thank God for blessing you with it. We have learned that He alone is our source, not each other as spouses and not even our jobs. God alone. No matter what comes our way, I am confident that the Lord will always provide for us.
